Congratulatory message from the Rector of the Mining and Metallurgical Institute of Tajikistan, Professor Bakhtiyor Mahmadali, dedicated to the Professional Day of Geologists

It is well known that every year on December 9, Tajikistan celebrates the professional day of geologists. It is known that the history of the Tajik nation tells us a lot of information, which sometimes surprises and sometimes makes people happy. The development of various sciences, the progress of this or that field, the research of our scientists or our ancestors in this or that direction shows us the most advanced nations of the world, and all these historical documents prove that we can always speak of greatness and Tajikness and be proud of it. Who first studied the earth, and who put an end to religious superstitions and prophecies? Of course, the outstanding children of Tajikistan, scientists, great people of our past, which today the world is proud of and use abundantly to continue scientific research.

The field of geology is also one of such sciences, which now contributes to the achievement of full economic independence in the country. His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the Leader of the Nation, has repeatedly spoken about the development of geology and its benefits for society, and even in his annual address said: rare, self-made and decorative stones, coal and the like, the amount of which is estimated at hundreds of billions of somoni.

Today, more than 600 deposits and 800 phenomena have been discovered and studied in Tajikistan, which contain more than 60 types of mineral and non-mineral raw materials.

Currently, only 27% of these resources are being mined and processed, which is not enough to achieve our fourth strategic goal.

Therefore, it is necessary for the Main Department of Geology to intensify work in the field of geological study, transition to international standards of resource accounting, use, recovery and protection of mineral resources, as well as control of hazardous geological processes and monitoring of groundwater.

In fact, now is the time to build new laboratories for the development of geological science with the use of modern equipment and technology, and in the work of research, researchers will be able to carry out their activities without any shortcomings.

The science of geology or geology is one of the ancient sciences and has long been studied and researched by Tajik scientists, our ancestors. Tajiks have made a great contribution to the development of this science, and even colleagues like Sino Beruni have written treatises on the branches of geology, which is a reflection of the realities of those days and the state of geology.

Today, geology is a well-known and popular profession, and most of the society has accepted it not as a profession, but as a hobby, and there are many lovers of geology in the country and they have many memories. Fortunately, 93 percent of Tajikistan’s land area is mountainous, and our geologists are able to make the most of this precious resource.

Today, young scientists and veterans of geology such as Anvar Otaev, Nasriddinov Zamoniddin, Abdumalik Olimov, Rozikov Zafar, Usmonov Shermat, Osimi Oqil, Mutavalliev Abduvahob, Guli Samadova and dozens of leading geologists at the Tajik Mining and Metallurgical Institute teach geology to students. explain that this contributes to the development of the industry.

Taking this opportunity, I would like to congratulate all geologists of the republic on this professional day and wish success, prosperity and happiness to all. Let everyone who has contributed to the development of Tajik geology and is still contributing today, always be successful and happy.

Happy professional day, dear geologists!
