Agreement on cooperation between the Mining and Metallurgical Institute of Tajikistan and the Central Office of Confucius Institutes for the development and support of the study of the Chinese language, as well as the strengthening and development of bilateral cultural and scientific ties, mutual understanding and friendly relations between the peoples of Tajikistan and China, the Shanghai Cooperation was signed on September 13, 2014 and within the framework of cooperation programs between the Republic of Tajikistan and the People’s Republic of China.

On August 20, 2015, in a solemn atmosphere, the Mining-Metallurgical Institute of Tajikistan and the Chinese Petroleum University signed an Agreement on the establishment of the Confucius Institute at the Mining-Metallurgical Institute of Tajikistan.

The main goals and objectives of the Institute are:

– Development of friendly relations between peoples, development of mutual understanding of citizens through the study of the Chinese language and culture;

 – International cooperation in the field of education and science, implementation of internship programs for students and specialists, cooperation in the field of advanced training in master’s and postgraduate studies with Chinese educational institutions, etc.

The Confucius Institute officially began its activities in early 2016. Currently, the Institute has organized Chinese language courses, and hundreds of students have completed these courses and received certificates.

The institute is eligible to take an international Chinese language proficiency test called the HSK. Graduates of Chinese language courses can take an exam at the Institute and receive a 1-6 HSK grade.
